CRIME AND PUNISHMENT

"Crime and punishment" is one of the best-known novels by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, first published in 1867. The work explores deep and complex themes related to morality, justice and redemption through the story of Rodion Raskolnikov, a young student in Saint Petersburg who commits murder and then faces an intense inner struggle with his conscience and the punishment he feels he deserves.

The novel focuses on the tension between the protagonist's ideology, who believes he has the right to commit crimes for a greater cause, and the reality of the consequences of his actions. As the plot progresses, Dostoyevsky examines Raskolnikov's psychology and his interactions with other characters representing different aspects of morality and justice.
